Miraculous Jesus

I) 2 kings 4:42-44 [incidence]

a) a man from Ba'al-shal'-i.shah brought 20 loaves of barley and fresh ears of grain in a sack to Elisha who was a man of God.

b) Elisha said to his servant, “Give it to the people and let them eat.”

c) The servant said, “How can I set this before a hundred people?”

d) But Elisha repeated, “Give it to the people and let them eat, for thus says the Lord, ‘They shall eat and have some left ' ”

e) He set it before them, they ate, and had some left , according to the word of the Lord.

NB: A man needs approximately 5 loaves of bread. So it was enough only for 4 people . Yet it was sufficient for 100 people and they had some left also.

II) 1 Kings 17:8-16 [incidence]

a) It was the time of severe draught. A widow of Zarephath had only a handful of meal in a jar , and little oil in a jug .

b) She thought to prepare the food out of the meal for herself and her son and to die after that.

c) But in 1 Kings 17:14 [we see Elijah telling them]

“For thus says the Lord the God of Israel: The jar of meal will not be emptied and the jug of oil will not fail until the day that the Lord sends rain on the earth.”

d) 1 Kings 17:15-16 [say]

“So that, she as well as he and her household ate for many days. The jar of meal was not emptied ; neither did the jug of oil fail, according to the word of the Lord that he spoke by Elijah.”

NB: Nobody poured the oil into the jug or put the meal inside the jar. It was miraculously multiplied.

III) NB: The very same miracle is performed by Jesus also.

a) Let us read Luke 9:16-17

“And taking the five loaves and the two fish , he looked up to heaven, and blessed and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd. And all ate and were filled. What was left over was gathered up, twelve baskets of broken pieces.”

NB:1 Like that, in Matthew 15:32-38

Jesus multiplies 7 loaves and few fishes for 4000 people and they gathered up the left over in 7 baskets.

NB:2 In those days Elijah and Elisha performed great miracles. Jesus performed more miracles than Elijah and Elisha.

NB:3 Jesus is capable of doing very great miracles in your life. You submit your talents to Jesus. He will make great things out of your small talents. He can do this.

IV) In Matthew 16:5-12 [we see]

a) After that, disciples of Jesus forgot to bring bread one day.

b) Jesus said to them, “Watch out, and beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”

c) But disciples of Jesus said to one another, “It is because we have brought no bread.”

NB: Because, they thought that Jesus is mentioning about their forgetfulness to bring bread.

d) Becoming aware of it, Jesus said, “You of little faith, why are you talking about having no bread? Do you still not perceive? Do you not remember the five loaves for the five thousand , and how many baskets you gathered? Or the seven loaves for the four thousand , and how many baskets you gathered?”

NB:1 Yes, Jesus is capable of multiplying five loaves for the five thousand and seven loaves for the four thousand people. And also he is capable of producing bread out of nothing.

NB:2 Jesus is capable of building up our life from the state of zero .

e) In Micah 5:2 [Lord says]

“But you, O Bethlehem of Ephrathah, who are one of the little clans of Judah, form you shall come forth for me one who is to rule in Israel, whose origin is from of old, from ancient days.”

NB: you may be a person of little talents . Sometimes, you may be a man of no talent . Lord Jesus is capable of building up your life out of nothing. Your little talents will grow up . New talents will be found in you. New ways will be formed. Do not worry. Have faith in Jesus.
